About Iran

Iran, the country of Persian Gulf, with a population of around 70 million people

who live on a land of about 1.6 million sp. kilometers. Beside other god gifted 

underground wealth which includes different kinds of minerals with a total

registered reservoir of 53 billion tons, Iran contains rich quarries of different

kinds of construction stones, many of which, are of global importance.

The numbers of active quarries registered so far are reported to be 962 with

a reservoir of about one billion tons from which an amount of 14 million tons

of stone is annually extracted. During the year 2005 over 390,000 tons of stone

has been exported to different parts of the world which shows a growth of 34
